Salzburg of Mozart's time, a dinner concert at the oldest restaurant in Europe, Stifskeller St. Peter in Old Town, Salzburg Austria. This was a period re-creation event, with a 3-course meal prepared and presented as it would have been in the 18th century, and a concert of Mozart's best-known works performed by local musicians and opera singers dressed in period costumes. Everything about the setting was wonderful, and this was one of the highlights of our 4 weeks in Europe.

The Opening Concert of the Salzburg Festival has traditionally been a highly regarded event. The vibrant heart of the Salzburg Festival, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, under the Russian conductor Valery Gergiev presents an exclusively Russian programme whose theme and content revolve around the most profound questions of human life: Igor Stravinsky's Symphony of Psalms and a masterly feat on the brink of the existential abyss -- Modest Mussorgsky's Songs and Dances of Death -- sung by Russian tenor Sergei Semishkur, who gives these fascinatingly dark songs an alarming intensity. Finally, the Vienna Philharmonic excels in its performance of Sergei Prokofiev's Fifth Symphony, demonstrating outstanding virtuosity and exceptional musicality. Recorded at Salzburg Festival, 29 July 2012.

Subscribe to my channel: http://goo.gl/y9hQsB We ha such a good time in Salzburg, we went to the Mirabel Gardens and I got to find a few of the locations from the Sound Of Music musical scenes. The last part of the Do-Re-Mi song was filmed here and I just had to run down the paths and walk on the edge of the fountain and dance on the steps. It was a lot of fun, and I'm sure most other people thought I was nuts.. including my dad:) But sometimes you just have to forget about other people and do your own thing right:) We also visited the Dwarf Garden, Beer brewing monks at the Augustiner Brewery and ended the day in a beautiful marble hall at the Mirabel Castle. We listened to the most beautiful violin quartet playing Mozart, Bach and some other guy I don't remember right now. It was a big...

Can't even describe how amazing he and his orchestra are!!! Pure PERFECTION! First but definitely not the last concert!!! P.S.: Apologies for the poor resolution.. I stupidly left the camera in the hotel room that evening, so I had to use my phone as much as the memory lasted.. ________________________________________ Blog: www.iflaviasorop.wordpress.com
